Revamped privacy policy and the launch of LINE Privacy Center

LINE began as a messenger app in June 2011 but has grown into a communication platform that is used globally on a daily basis. As the amount and variety of data has increased together with the growth of our service, LINE believes it is more essential than ever to reinforce our commitment to securely handle this information. As a platform used by more than 167 million users across our four key markets, we have placed protecting privacy and reinforcing the security of personal information our utmost priorities.

LINE has revamped its privacy policy to mark this year’s Data Privacy Day in order to further promote transparency and provide users a more easy-to-understand way on how we handle personal data. The redesigned LINE Privacy Policy website provides a more simplified explanation of our terms and allows users to more easily find the information they need*2.
