・Financial account and personal asset management service
・Enables users to easily track their daily cash flow on LINE
・Clear display of cash flow-based daily budget lets users save wisely and efficiently
TOKYO – November 13, 2018 – LINE Kakeibo, a financial account and personal asset management service available on LINE and as an app (for iPhone and Android), launches from LINE Pay Corporation today.
LINE Kakeibo is a free personal financial account and asset management service based on the concept of "helping users enjoy keeping the habit of saving money." Whether users are discovering financial account management for the first time or have abandoned it after giving it a try, this service allows all users to save wisely and efficiently just by recording and managing their income and expense on LINE.
LINE Kakeibo is accessible both from the Wallet tab in the LINE app and as a separate, downloadable app for iPhone and Android.
The app links with a user's bank account, credit card, e-money, and other financial services, LINE Points and other reward programs, and e-commerce services to create a central database, and automatically generates a personal account book. It also tracks a user's money transfers, payments, top-ups, account balance, and other LINE Pay activity logs and incorporates them in the account book.
Meanwhile, LINE Kakeibo as a service within the LINE app offers great accessibility and convenience to users by allowing them to quickly check their cash flow statement, financial services that they have linked to LINE Kakeibo, and more, without the need to switch apps.
* Some functions are not available on the in-app version of LINE Kakeibo. To use the full service, please install the LINE Kakeibo app.
Service highlights
1. Quick view of daily budget
A user's daily budget cap is automatically calculated based on the income and expense data the user enters. (app only)
2. Easy cash flow tracking
The in-app version of LINE Kakeibo lets users instantly access the service from within LINE and easily record their income and expense. Meanwhile, the LINE Kakeibo app gives users the choice of entering their cash flow details manually or automatically by taking a photo of their receipts to scan the items and prices.
3. Automated account book management by linking with financial services and reward programs
By linking financial services including LINE Pay, bank accounts, and credit cards, e-commerce services, and other supported services to their LINE Kakeibo account, users can automatically keep track of their expenditures without having to manually enter the data or take photos of their receipts. (app only)
4. Support users to save money every month
The service automatically calculates a user's remaining budget based on his or her monthly cash flow, and displays how much he or she can save each month. Users simply need to make sure not to spend more than their budget in order to make consistent monthly savings. Users can also set specific savings goals based on how they wish to spend the money they save. (app only)
5. Calendar-based cash flow management
Users can see their monthly income and expense in a calendar for a snapshot of when, how much, and for what they spent money. The calendar also functions as a journal to which users can place stickers on their pay day and other special dates. Users also have access to a set of special stickers that can only be placed on the day. Because of this rule, users are encouraged to access the service and enter their cash flow daily so that they can customize and decorate their calendar with the special stickers.
6. Graph showing remaining monthly budget by category
A coherent graph shows a user's monthly expense and remaining budget for every category, enabling users to see their cash flow balance at a glance. (app only)
7. Tips provided through regular reports
Free weekly and monthly reports showing users a graph of their cash flow history are accessible anytime, giving users a bird's-eye-view of their spending against the target as well as compared to the previous month. (app only)
A group functionality that enables users to save money, manage their income and expense, and share assets with their partner, family members, and others connected on LINE is expected to be added in a future update.
LINE Kakeibo aims to become a financial service hub that visualizes money circulation and helps users manage their payments and cash flow. It will also provide a personal financial account and asset management service that enables users to save wisely and efficiently, and helps with asset building and management.
