TOKYO – August 7, 2018 – "LINE Ads Platform," the performance-based ad platform for the LINE messaging app and related services operated by LINE Corporation, is getting a major system update from August 20, 2018.
The LINE Ads Platform went into full-scale operation in June 2016 when it started distributing ads to LINE Timeline and LINE NEWS. Since then, distribution has expanded to include LINE Manga, LINE BLOG, and LINE Points, and more than 6,000 businesses and brands are using the service as of the end of July 2018.
Ad distribution optimized through best use of LINE's user data after system overhaul
The LINE Ads Platform's latest system renewal will further optimize and refine the ad distribution system to help businesses and brands maximize their marketing activities and resolve their business challenges. The new system will offer a new account structure that better fits optimized ad distribution, a renewed Admin Panel UI, and the LINE Tag feature to measure user behavior on websites—leading to optimal ad distribution through maximized use of LINE's user database.
Aiming to achieve greater return on advertising spend (ROAS) with new features and expanded data usage
LINE will increase its service line-up with ad options such as dynamic product ads (DPA) for direct response advertising, and implement a feature to its auto bid-optimization feature that maximizes sales within the app. Through these efforts, LINE aims to further increase the return on ad spend (ROAS).
LINE will also leverage purchase data acquired through LINE Shopping that has more than 20 million registrants, and enable marketing automation in which advertisements are automatically optimized for each user by linking the targeting feature with account ads. The company will also accelerate its efforts to penetrate the SMB market with new features including self-serve advertising expected to launch in the first half of 2019.
By offering a variety of ad options and making constant improvements to its platform, LINE will continuously provide valuable information touch points for both businesses and users, and explore new and diverse ways to be useful as communication infrastructure.
