TOKYO – April 2, 2018 – LINE Corporation announces that is has launched "LINE TAXI," a taxi calling service, in Bangkok on April 2, 2018.
LINE announced in July 2017 that LINE Company (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (LINE's corporate entity in Thailand) had entered into a business alliance with Bangkok Taxi Co-operative Network, a group with over 60,000 legal taxi drivers in Thailand, in preparation for the launch of LINE TAXI. Today marks the official launch of the LINE TAXI service, which can be found within the LINE MAN* app, LINE's on-demand assistant available to serve users' needs 24/7.

Calling a taxi is simple: upon selecting LINE TAXI from the LINE MAN app and entering their pickup and drop-off locations, users search for the closest taxi and are then shown the name and face of the driver, the taxi number, and the current location of the taxi. Riders can also share their taxi information and route with their family and friends over the LINE messaging app. Further, thanks to being linked to the mobile payment service Rabbit LINE Pay, riders can enjoy a smooth, cashless experience by using the Rabbit LINE Pay QR code to make their payment. (Cash payments are also available.) The service has launched in Bangkok, with further plans to expand support to other areas going forward.
