SEONGNAM, South Korea – April 4, 2018 – LINE Plus Corporation, the Korea-based subsidiary of LINE Corporation, has launched “unblock,” a subsidiary specializing in blockchain technology. Announced in Korea on April 2, unblock marks the entry of LINE into the blockchain market.
Officials at LINE said the new venture represents just the first step in developing a range of blockchain-related services, which will be integrated into the LINE platform.
LINE has named Matthew Lee to be the first CEO of unblock. Lee is the co-founder of AD4th, a digital advertising agency specializing in blockchain, and brings more than 20 years experience in IT-related venture capital.
