Tokyo, Japan – July 1, 2015 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, has announced their decision to invest in a new game project being developed by game planner, developer, operator and solution provider PlayNext Japan Inc., via “LINE Game Global Gateway,” the game investment fund operated by LINE subsidiary, LINE Ventures Corporation. PlayNext Japan has already commenced game development, with the intention of publishing on LINE GAME. 

PlayNext Japan develops and operates numerous game titles, such as the Karitomo hunting RPG series, and the Oddbot Workshop series, in which players aim to create the world’s best robot factory. LINE has decided to provide their support to the company as it exercises its development prowess in this new game development, and work together to see the　company’s content achieve success on the global stage.

 

Through this investment LINE will help deliver high-quality, Japanese-developed content to users around the world.
