Fight Through 600+ Enormous Stages with a Menagerie of Wooparoos to Command!

 

Tokyo, Japan – June 22, 2015 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, announced the release of the casual defense game “LINE WOOPAROOSAGA” today, available for free on both iPhone and Android platforms. LINE WOOPAROOSAGA is a stage-based casual defense game in which players collect and cultivate monsters known as “wooparoos,” which are used to battle against enemies. LINE WOOPAROOSAGA features over 600 extensive stages, each with their own challenges requiring special strategies to clear them - a LINE GAME first. Players may enjoy devising different strategies for each unique stage and nimbly navigating through battles in order to clear them. The game also offers a real-time PvP (player versus player) mode that allows players to communicate with each other via messages and emoji while battling it out for ultimate supremacy.

 

Starting on May 20, the service held a pre-registration campaign in advance of the upcoming release. The event succeeded in attracting over 42,000 users, ensuring a solid player base for the game’s launch.

 

The Wooparoo Saga

The game’s story focuses on the mysterious wooparoos, mystical life-forms created by an all-powerful higher being. Since times long-forgotten, the lesser gods have used the wooparoos for their own evil purposes. Unfortunately, millennia of misuse have rendered these unfortunate creatures completely out of control. In his benevolence, the creator god has ordained and dispatched a new breed of wooparoos to rid the world of these unruly, evil beasts and bring peace back to the land.

 

About the Game

Gameplay consists of first selecting a stage, after which players assemble a strategic team of wooparoos based on the skills each beast possesses. Items can then be optionally equipped, after which the real battle begins. 

 

The game introduces over 500 different kinds of wooparoos, each with their own unique skills and attributes. Players can earn new characters by playing the in-game Gacha, or use their gaming prowess to defeat stage bosses and add them to their collection. Victory in battle will earn players Mana Orbs and other items used to power up characters. The game also provides an evolution system in which two of the same character can be combined to create a more highly evolved form of wooparoo.

Battle types vary per stage, consisting of Skirmishes, where players can choose a limited range of wooparoos with which to destroy their enemies, and Assaults, in which players can choose as many wooparoos as they want to destroy the enemy camp. The game also features multiple event modes through which players can gain experience points, such as Infinite Arena, in which players test their defensive mettle to stave off an endless onslaught of oncoming enemies, and Warfare, where players dispatch all their wooparoos at once for the ultimate melee.

Skirmish Mode

LINE WOOPAROOSAGA also features a real-time PvP mode that allows users to go head-to-head with their LINE friends and more. A robust real-time messaging system allows for in-depth communication between players, who can even send each other emoji if they so choose. Players can also compete with their friends on LINE for rankings, as well as send each other items.

 

To commemorate the launch of the service, the game is holding a series of special events from now until June 30 in which users can win Premium Gacha Tickets, Gems, and other in-game items.

1. First Boss Event

Defeat the first boss Ully to get 20 Gems as a special reward! Defeat the second boss Yeti to get 3 Friendship Gacha Tickets.

 

World Clear Event

Defeat Treetem, the boss of the first world, to get a Premium Gacha Ticket and a chance to earn a rare wooparoo.

 

Enhancement Reward Event

Players start by collecting the participation tickets given out every time they power up their wooparoos. After saving up a certain amount of tickets, they can be exchanged for the chance to play a special lottery that features Premium Gacha Tickets, Gems as prizes. (*Players can join the event from inside the app.)

 

2. Friend Invitation Event

Invite 10 LINE friends to play the game to get 20 Gems, 20 friends for 30 Gems, 50 friends to get a 4-Star Mint wooparoo, and 100 friends to get a 5-Star Kai wooparoo.

 

 

LINE plans to continue adding more features and improvements to LINE GAME and its related services in order to offer the best communication-based gaming experience possible to players.
