SEONGNAM, South Korea – September 20, 2024 – LINE NEXT Inc., LINE’s venture dedicated to developing and expanding the NFT ecosystem, announced today that it will release “Rent A Hero Z” in 2025, based on the IP license from SEGA CORPORATION (“SEGA”).
Rent A Hero Z is based on the legacy SEGA game “Rent A Hero”, an action role-playing video game released in 1991. The game release comes as the result of LINE NEXT and SEGA’s understanding on using SEGA’s popular game IP. Together with SEGA, LINE NEXT aims to revive the legacy game, adding Web3 elements to increase the fun.
In addition, LINE NEXT requested SEGA to create a theme song for this new project. That new theme song will be showcased at SEGA's booth during the Tokyo Game Show, being held from September 26 to 29. A live performance of the song is scheduled for September 28 at noon.
