On June 2, 2016, LINE launched the LINE Security Bug Bounty Program, an effort which invited users across the globe to report vulnerabilities in version 6.3 and above of the LINE app in return for cash rewards. Certain users reported bugs that were found to be outside the bounds of the program, but nevertheless provided information that contributed greatly to an increased level of security within services offered by LINE. The company has decided to acknowledge these users as "Special Contributors," and add their names to the Bug Bounty Hall of Fame.
