To connect with your family and friends safely

Manage your connection with your friends wisely

LINE is a tool to communicate with your family and friends. See below for basic information on how to add and manage your friends so that you can use LINE safely.

Adding and blocking friends

What friends can see and do when you add them

What a “friend” means on LINE

LINE defines a person to whom you can send a message to as your “friend.” When you add friends (regardless of whether they have added you), you can send them messages and invite them to your groups. Meanwhile, you will be shown in their Friend Recommendations, and they will be able to see the name which you have set and your profile picture .
When adding friends, it is important to check their profile in advance to see if they are really the people you know.

Blocking friends

What is blocking?

LINE offers a blocking feature as a way to reject communication with people you have become friends with. They will not know that you blocked them, and you will not be able to receive their messages or calls once they are blocked.
