TOKYO – March 26, 2018 – LINE Corporation, the operator of LINE SHOPPING—a service that lets users shop for great deals through the LINE messaging app—has announced that the service has exceeded 10 million monthly active users (MAU), and that many new merchants have been added including fashion portal operator “ZOZOTOWN”, the shopping channel “Shop Channel”, and cosmetics portal operator “Orbis.”

LINE SHOPPING is a service accessible from the LINE app that lets users shop for great deals on over 30 million items spanning categories from fashion and miscellaneous goods to sports, interior decorating, home electronics, cosmetics, and more. Users can easily search for and browse through products from a wide variety of merchants ranging from online stores of manufacturers and fashion brands to popular shopping malls, and receive up to 20% of the purchase price back in LINE Points just by making their purchase through LINE SHOPPING. *1

*1 Once users decide on their purchases, they are taken to the merchant's website to make their payment.

In addition to exchanging for reward points or gifts offered by each merchant, users can immediately convert their LINE Points to Japanese Yen at par and spend it with LINE Pay. This enables users to make great use of their Points collected through LINE SHOPPING, as LINE Pay is accepted as a payment option at ZOZOTOWN, FOREVER21, and other online stores, in restaurants and other physical establishments, and even to settle electricity and other utility bills.

In January 2018, the number of LINE SHOPPING members topped 17 million *2. This was a result of increasing the number of listed products to 30 million, enriching the content in ways such as enabling users to search for products within the LINE NEWS tab, and making other improvements to the service’s features.
