TOKYO – February 6, 2018 – LINE Corporation introduces "LINE SP Research," a new option for the in-store promotion solution "LINE SP Solutions" that utilizes the LINE messaging app and related services.

 

As a solution dedicated to promoting in-store sales by leveraging LINE and related services, LINE SP Solutions was launched with the goal to help clients reduce in-store operations and point-of-purchase (POP) advertising, encourage customers to enter promotional campaigns, gain insight on consumer buying behavior, and resolve other pain-points related to driving in-store sales. The packaged solutions currently available are LINE Sampling—a one-stop shop enabling everything from boosting store visits to distributing product samples—and LINE Mileage—a platform allowing businesses to conduct in-store promotional campaigns using LINE. They have been adopted by many companies and brands including major beverage manufacturers.

 

The latest option, LINE SP Research, enables clients to see the buying behavior of users reached with LINE SP Solutions before, during, and after promotional campaigns.

As a first step, LINE has entered an alliance with Intage Inc. to leverage its greatest capability—the data research platform that provides 360-degree coverage on consumer behavior including product purchases, service usage, media exposure, behavior, and emotions—so that the buying behavior of users reached with LINE SP Solutions can be visualized. The platform enables a wide range of research to be conducted for each marketing funnel, from getting a detailed breakdown of gender, age groups, and purchase rate, and comparing users’ purchase amounts and frequency before, during, and after promotional campaigns, to seeing the changes in a user’s preferred brands, and influencing users to turn towards a brand’s parent brand.

With this new option, not only can businesses and brands achieve a massive user reach through the distribution of samples, but they can also visualize, learn, and analyze the buying behavior of users before, during, and after a promotional campaign to optimize one-on-one follow-up chats with users via LINE Business Connect, and enhance the effectiveness of other post-campaign initiatives.

 

Going forward, LINE SP Solutions will allow the entire process – from the launch of promotional campaigns, participation tracking, follow-up promotions, and announcements for the next plan – to take place all within LINE.
