Original “Universal Studio Japan & LINE Characters” Crossover Movie and LINE Stickers as well as a

Variety of Other Collaborations with LINE Family Apps Planned

 

Tokyo, Japan – March 24, 2016 – LINE Corporation today announced that its internally created LINE characters appearing in LINE stickers have been appointed as “Re-born Ambassadors” for the 15th anniversary of the Universal Studios Japan theme park operated by USJ Co., Ltd.

/linecorp/en/pr/011.PNGThe LINE characters were created along with the release of the LINE stickers feature on October 4, 2011, and ever since the expressiveness and unique personalities of Brown, Cony, Moon and the other LINE characters have struck a chord with LINE users across genders and age groups. These characters have evolved to become a defining symbol of LINE, now appearing in various LINE-related services and collaborations with other corporations and brands. Meanwhile, the LINE FRIENDS STORE, an officially licensed character goods store that opened its first shop in 2013, has expanded to 44 locations in 11 countries. From Harajuku to New York and Shanghai, the LINE FRIENDS STORE is an important touchpoint between LINE and its users.

 

The beloved LINE characters are to be appointed Re-born Ambassadors for Universal Studios Japan as it celebrates its 15th anniversary on March 18. The theme of the Universal Studios Japan 15th anniversary is “Re-born! Let’s go over the top and be born again,” and LINE will enthusiastically support Universal Studios Japan during this year as it aims to stimulate a variety of emotions in park guests and help them feel young again by rejuvenating the body and mind. 

 

As the first installment of this collaboration with Universal Studios Japan, an original movie and stickers featuring LINE characters and Universal Studios Japan will be distributed on March 29th. Users will be able to download original LINE stickers by watching an all-new video depicting Brown, Cony and the other LINE characters enjoying a “Re-Born” Universal Studios Japan.
