Continuously Expanding Features Capture Asian and European Market

 

Tokyo, Japan – March 15, 2016 – LINE Corporation announced today that its selfie camera app B612, available for free on iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone platforms, topped 150 million downloads worldwide as of March 3.

B612 is a dedicated selfie camera app which allows users to customize their photos with a wide variety of filters and effects. The selfie-optimized app boasts a host of features not found in more general-purpose camera apps, including the option to automatically switch to the user’s front-facing camera upon start-up, as well as the ability to easily switch between 92 types of filters simply by swiping the screen.

 

B612 launched in August of 2014 in time to ride the growing wave of popularity of "selfie culture," earning it many users across Asia, Central and South America, and Eastern Europe. Subsequently, in August of 2015, B612 was awarded top global design award Red Dot's highest honor, "Best of the Best" in the Communication Design 2015 category. Additionally, the app has taken the number one spot in Google Play's photography category in 29 countries, and 38 countries in the App Store.

 

The original 60 filters launched with the app have grown to 92, while regular updates have expanded the wide range of photo and video decoration features available to users. As a result of this continued support, B612 has accrued over 150 million downloads worldwide as of March 3, 2016, 19 months since the app's launch.
