Tokyo, Japan – November 12, 2014 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, announced the release of LINE Maps for Indoor, an all-new family app that offers navigation specifically tailored to the inside of commercial buildings like shopping malls and department stores, on Android devices.
LINE Maps for Indoor is a navigation app specifically designed to help users make their way through the inside of commercial buildings like shopping malls and department stores. Users can easily find where they are looking for by entering a store or restaurant name, or by directly tapping a location on the map, after which the app will show them the fastest way to their destination.
The app is available in languages other than Japanese, including English, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, meaning tourists from abroad can make use of the service as well. The app currently services 37 facilities, including popular Tokyo tourism spots like Shibuya Hikarie, Lumine, Coredo, and the service plans to add more supported locations in the future.
The app also comes with a category search feature that lets users find the closest nursing room, bathroom, or other such location, and store detail pages that offer information on shop and restaurant business hours, phone numbers, etc. There is even a share feature that lets users share location and store information through LINE, email, or on social networks, exemplifying just how many convenient features the app comes with. The app is planned for release on iOS devices in the near future.
