Tokyo, Japan – July 29, 2014 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, announced that its casual puzzle game “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum” surpassed 20 million downloads worldwide on July 24.

 

LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum features the popular “Tsum Tsum” series of stuffed toys designed after popular Disney characters. The Japanese version of the game was released on January 29, 2014 in Japan, and an English version followed on July 1 in 40 countries and regions, including western markets like the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as East Asian markets such as Taiwan and Thailand,.

 

The simple gameplay concept of connecting 3 or more Tsums to gain points, as well as the game’s charming and adorable aesthetic featuring favorite Disney characters, made it a great hit in East Asia, Europe, and South America alike, contributing towards the achievement of 20 million downloads on July 24.

 

To further the game’s expansion into the global marketplace, exciting events will be organized for each individual market in addition to joint promotional efforts with the Disney Store. The addition of new characters and localization of the app into Thai and Traditional Chinese are also being planned.

 

A special promotion will take place to celebrate the achievement of 20 million downloads. Starting July 31, a special 20% bonus will be added on top of the standard bonus to all Ruby packs available in the game, and players can win up to 10,000 Coins according to their level by completing the missions displayed daily in the game starting August 5.
