Stamp Shop Celebrates its First Anniversary as App Reaches 80 Million Downloads
Tokyo, Japan – April 3, 2014 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, today announced the opening of a new Frame Shop for the sale of frames used to decorate photos in LINE’s official camera app, “LINE camera” (http://camera.line.me/
LINE camera allows smartphone users to easily edit and decorate photos taken with or saved on their phones, then share them with friends and groups on LINE and many other social media platforms.
The Frame Shop will provide users with the option of purchasing a variety of frames in-app to use on their photos in addition to the free frames already available. The Frame Shop will offer frames featuring LINE mascots and famous characters such as Hello Kitty, and also frames designed by popular illustrators worldwide. Users can give their photos a more personal touch with the new frame choices*1. Each pack of frames will cost JPY 200, and a total of 15 packs*2 will be available upon release of the shop. New frames will be added regularly. The Frame Shop will be opened to Android users in the near future.
On March 28, LINE camera celebrated hitting the 80 million downloads mark in just under two years since its release on April 13, 2012. LINE camera is loved by users in Japan, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and all around the globe for its rich contents and features, including the Stamp Shop that welcomed its first anniversary on April 2, the beauty feature that enables users to touch up their photos easily, and the collage feature that can be used to tell stories with multiple photos.
LINE camera will continue to improve its existing features and add new ones in order to stimulate photo communication and communication through LINE worldwide.
