News Network to Leverage LINE’s Global User Base to Deliver News Video Clips

Tokyo, Japan – September 16, 2014 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, today announced that the first ever official account for an international news media source “BBC News” has officially opened in eleven countries around the world, including the United States and Spain.

BBC News is available in more than 200 countries and regions worldwide and attracts a weekly global audience of 265 million people.

By adding the official account as a friend, LINE users can receive the latest BBC breaking news on LINE via short video clips and other media.
   
The official account plans to expand the number of countries in which it is available as well as offer multi-lingual support.
